Chinese culture learning activities in 2024-25:
Target:
Through a variety of activities, children can learn about and appreciate China's diverse traditional culture, customs, and characteristics, and cultivate a sense of belonging to their motherland. By sharing traditional Chinese cultural stories, children are taught to abide by laws and regulations, protect public property, and develop respect and care for others.
Activity introduction:
Our school curriculum incorporates various elements of Chinese culture, such as lantern making, welcoming the New Year, writing Spring Festival couplets, and dragon boat racing. By learning about the cultural customs and artistic creations associated with traditional festivals, children deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and cultivate a sense of belonging to their motherland. Furthermore, through school-wide activities, children are encouraged to gradually explore and appreciate China's rich and diverse traditional customs, culture, and characteristics, fostering the virtues of Chinese culture. Our school also organizes a "Chinese Cultural Journey" which features activities such as making fans, sachets, and Peking Opera masks; experiencing the joys of pitching pots and playing Cuju; and watching the making of candied haws. Children and parents have the opportunity to experience traditional Chinese sports, arts, and snacks, fostering a sense of belonging to their motherland and embracing the essence of Chinese folk art.
