Admission Arrangements for Nursery(K1) Classes

Parents assist with the applicants for applying the “2025/26 RC” to EDB 
from September to November 2024		 KGs process 2025/26 K1 admission applications2
EDB will generally take six to eight weeks to complete processing of the applications and issue the “2025/26 RC” to eligible applicants1 by post
 
KGs inform applicants of the application result before 13th December 2024
If application is successful If application is not successful
Applicants register with one KG during the “centralised registration date” (2nd to 4th January 2025)
By submitting the “2025/26 RC” 3 and paying the registration fee		 Applicants refer to the K1 vacancy information released by EDB after the “centralised registration dates” (from the end of January 2025)
 
KGs issue a letter of admission matters to applicants’ parent in May 2025
Applicants’ parent comes to one KG for the admission procedures in June 2025
Remarks：
  1. If parents cannot present the “2025/26 RC” to the KG their child has been admitted to during the “centralised registration dates”, the KG concerned may not be able to complete the registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit an application to the EDB within the designated period.
  2. For parents who submit the application form, please bring the $40 registration fee and the below information:
    A completed application form, one child’s recent photos of passport-photo size, photocopy of the child’s birth certificate and immunization record, four envelopes with own address and stamps, pay attention to letter weight and postage increase.
  3. If an applicant is admitted after the Centralised Registration Dates, he/she is still required to submit the RC/AP for registration. If an applicant wishes to change school after registering with a KG, he/she is required to get back the RC/AP from the KG with which he/she has registered. Upon getting back the RC/AP from a KG, the KG concerned will no longer reserve the place for the applicant. Normally, the registration fee paid to the KG with which the applicant has registered will not be refunded.
